Data Deletion Instructions
There are three ways to have your data deleted: uninstall the app, disconnect an advertising platform, or email us. All three are described below, with the timeframe for each.
1. Delete everything: uninstall the app
In your Shopify admin, open Settings → Apps and sales channels, find Profytly and choose Uninstall.
Shopify then sends us the mandatory shop/redact webhook 48 hours later, and we permanently delete everything associated with your shop: order aggregates, product cost overrides, expenses, advertising connections and imported spend, reports and settings. Encrypted backups containing your data age out of the 14-day rolling retention window and are then gone as well.
Uninstalling also stops billing immediately. Nothing is charged after uninstallation.
2. Delete advertising platform data only
Open the app, go to Ad platforms, and choose Disconnect on the platform you want removed. This immediately deletes the stored access and refresh tokens for that platform along with the spend data imported from it. Your Shopify profit data is untouched and the app keeps working.
You can also revoke our access from the platform's own side — for Meta, under Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business integrations.
3. Meta automated deletion callback
For Meta specifically, we implement the Data Deletion Request Callback. When Meta sends a signed deletion request to https://profytly.io/api/meta/data-deletion, we verify the signature, delete every Meta connection held for that Meta user — including its stored tokens — and return a confirmation code and a status URL where the outcome of that request can be checked.
These requests are processed on receipt, not batched. Each one is written to our compliance log so the deletion can be evidenced later.
4. Ask us directly
Email profytly@gmail.com from the address associated with your store, or from your store's contact address, stating your .myshopify.com domain and what you want deleted. We may ask one question to verify you control the store — we will never ask for a password.
We confirm and complete verified requests within 30 days as required by the GDPR, and in practice usually within 72 hours. There is no charge.
5. What we keep, and why
After deletion we retain only what the law requires us to keep: invoicing and tax records of payments made, for the retention period tax law in the United States imposes. These contain the shop domain and amounts paid — no store analytics, no advertising data. They are not used for any other purpose.
6. Note on customer data
Profytly does not collect or store personal data about your customers — no names, emails, addresses or payment details. If a shopper submits a data request to your store and you need to account for our app, the answer is that we hold no personal data about them. We still implement Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks and log every one we receive, so that answer is documented rather than merely asserted.
